Question
Tech III position in pollinator research at Cornell
=12ptThe Danforth lab at Cornell University (in partnership with Rachael Winfree’s lab at Rutgers University) seeks a highly qualified applicant to assist in research on the molecular biology of bees. Our lab focuses on two broad areas: (1) bee-microbe interactions via amplicon sequencing of bacteria and fungi and (2) DNA barcoding of bee specimens as a tool for rapid bee identification. Both of these approaches require skills in molecular biology, including DNA extraction, quantification, amplification via PCR and sequencing via Illumina or MinION platforms. We seek a talented, motivated candidate with the skills and motivation to conduct field and laboratory research on native/wild bee microbial diversity and systematics.
